The students of the Political Science Department, Hindu College went on an educational visit to The Harijan Sevak Sangh which was founded in 1932 by Mahatma Gandhi with the aim of promoting the welfare of 'Harijans'.

About the event
The students of the Political Science Department, Hindu College went on an educational visit to The Harijan Sevak Sangh which was founded in 1932 by Mahatma Gandhi with the aim of promoting the welfare of 'Harijans'.
With the help of this excursion, the students got an opportunity to understand how the Sangh functioned and what the various initiatives taken by the Sangh were. These included steps taken in the field of EDUCATION such as the establishment of a school, a hostel for girls belonging to the underprivileged sections of the society as well as a library having a plethora of books. The students were also briefed about the measures taken in the field of HEALTH AND SANITATION which included conducting health camps and surveys to raise awareness and improve the conditions of the marginalized sections.
